Mercedes-Benz has unveiled the pricing details for its much-anticipated 2023 GLC SUV model, which is set to hit the market in June 2023 with a starting price of $58,900.
This new iteration of the GLC offers expanded interior space, enhanced comfort, superior performance, and a suite of new features, delivering an improved and luxurious driving experience.
More Space Inside
Among the notable improvements in the 2023 GLC is the enhanced size, offering greater comfort and utility for passengers. The vehicle is 60mm longer and 4mm lower than its predecessor, and the track widths at the front and rear have increased by 6mm and 23mm respectively. This results in better handling and stability on the road. Furthermore, the luggage capacity has been expanded to a spacious 620 litres, a significant 70-litre increase from the previous model.
A Quieter Cabin
The new GLC SUV stands out with its acoustic optimization, resulting in a cabin with impressively low noise levels. An acoustic membrane in the windscreen comes as standard equipment, while an optional thermal insulation glass ensures a more peaceful ride. Moreover, a newly designed panoramic sunroof offers an expansive view of the sky, while improved sound insulation contributes to a serene sound signature in the cabin.
More Efficient, Mild-Hybrid Powertrains
Performance-wise, the 2023 GLC is equipped with a mild-hybrid engine featuring 48-volt technology and an integrated starter-generator (ISG). The ISG facilitates functions such as "gliding", boost, or recuperation, aiding in fuel savings. The base engine delivers a robust 255 horsepower and 295 pound-feet of torque, which outperforms its
predecessor.
New Off-Road Features
Geared for off-road adventures, the new GLC SUV comes with standard equipment that includes an off-road driving mode and Downhill Speed Regulation (DSR). The system can regulate the steering angle of the towing vehicle when manoeuvring with a trailer, and the vehicle-trailer combination can be stabilised when reversing or guided around bends. Various camera perspectives on the central display aid in monitoring the entire process.
Improved Driver Assistance Features
Enhanced safety is provided by the GLC's advanced assistance systems. The Intelligent Drive package offers a suite of features aimed at reducing driver workload and enhancing safety. Active Distance Assist DISTRONIC is now capable of reacting to stationary vehicles at speeds up to 100 km/h, while the Active Steering Assist includes 360-degree camera capabilities, providing invaluable assistance at low speeds.
New Interior Design
The 2023 GLC features a visually appealing and user-friendly dashboard design. The upper section sports a wing-like feature with flattened round nozzles, while the lower section features a generous trim area that seamlessly flows into the curved centre console.
